FAQ

What is a menstrual cup?

Menstrual cups are a flexible cup inserted into the vagina during a period to collect menses. M cups collect fluid instead of absorbing it. They can be emptied, rinsed and reused. Saving the planet and saving you money. But many use them for their convenience since they can be worn for up to 12 hours at a time.

Which size is right for me?

Choosing which size cup is right for you is a balance of fitting your anatomy (everyone is different) and selecting a capacity that works well for you. If you have a heavy flow, you may choose to go with the larger size (our Size B) because it has increased capacity.

If you do not have any concerns about capacity and still want help choosing between sizes you can use the recommendations that many menstrual cup companies suggest: if you are under 30, try our A size (smaller size). If you are over 30 or if you have carried a pregnancy, try our B size (larger size).

In any case, we trust you to know your own body the best and choose the size that is best for you.

What is the Keela Cup made of?

The Keela Cup is 100% medical grade silicone. Our cups are latex free, BPA free, vegan and hypoallergenic.

Is this product safe to use with an IUD?

Please ask your doctor on this one! Though we will note the difference between our cup and other cups: the pullstring stem breaks the seal before applying downward force.

We want to donate cups, can you help?

We love this mission as well, and we would love to help you! We are in the process of setting up our donation program. We will be selling a donation cup, where for an extra $10 we will donate two cups on your behalf. Stay tuned! If you can receive donated cups, please email us: info@keelacup.com.

Why don't you ship to my country?

Trust us, we want to be global just as much as you do! Menstrual cups are regulated medical devices with varying costs per country to be in compliance. As soon as demand allows, we would love to expand to your country! Be sure to drop us a line to let us know where you would like to see us next.

How do you clean it?

The Keela cup is easily cleaned with soap and water. Though it may look tricky to clean around the stem, it's actually pretty easy. If you want, you can "floss" the stem back and forth with soapy water to make sure you clean the stem entirely, or you can pull the stem out from the bottom seal, clean it, and re-thread it through the bottom.
